The AM Monitor displays frequency, carrier power, reflected power, upward modulation and shows a warning if the downward modulation reaches -100%. When not transmitting, the top line shows the last frequency transmitted, the second line shows your call.
When transmitting, the top line shows frequency, carrier power and reflected power. The second line is a bargraph representing upward modulation 0 – 100%.
If negative modulation hits the baseline, an overmodulation warning is shown.
Low distortion detected audio is available at the rear panel for use as an air monitor or for distortion measurements. It is a line level signal on a 1/8 in mono jack. The monitor requires 12V at 50 mA which is supplied by the attached wall transformer. The carrier power measurement is individually calibrated on each amateur band using a Bird 4421 RF power meter as a reference. The carrier power reading is accurate when driving a matched load. The operating range of the monitor is 1.8 – 30 MHz. Peak power must not exceed 1500 watts and carrier power must not exceed 500 watts.
